Aye there matey! I’m a bit tired from my travels with the Amazonians of Caldonia recently. Oh what an adventure! Sailing down the River of Good Hope in nothing but canoes. Caught in raging rapids we were dodging rocks left and right, any one of them could’ve sunk us. As the current increased it’s unrelenting pull, the water ahead of us disappeared from view. We felt a sudden surge and then weightlessness, my heart soaring up to the top of my chest. Falling down the waterfall a splendid experience! Two minutes and 500 ft. of heart pounding excitement later we landed at the bottom. Our canoes crushed, we worked together to swim to shore.
Spending the next few hours relaxing, tending wounds, and swimming, we waited until nightfall. Following the riverbank and using constellations to guide us, we made it to a village twenty miles ahead. As we marched we spoke of Orion, how he stole stars from Merlin, and had an enchantress weave them into his belt. One of our rowers told of the constellation Artemis and how using using her bow each night, she pulls the moon across the sky.
Upon coming across the village, we only stayed one night. The villagers were nice, and their blood and bone soup is delicious. I love the taste of iron, and the bones have just the right amount of crunch. They have this strange tradition of washing themselves and their clothes before every meal though. They also meditated for three hours that day. If I wanted a bath I would go back to the river, and I can only sit in silence for so long before I'm ready to leave.
With that, our group departed, and traveled back to the coastal city of Tarbean where Sally found me idling at the docks, thirsty for adventure. When she asked me to join her crew I couldn't say yes fast enough. Glad to have you with us sailor, and welcome aboard!
